Gary Smith
(Sep. 14,
1999)
One of the
most popular books on day trading was written by Gary Smith called
"Live the Dream Day Trading S&P 500 Futures". (It was published
by the previous owner of CTCR, Bruce Babcock.)
Gary has been
one of the real stalwarts in this industry and has refused to
buy into any hype, including about himself. As an example, here's
what he recently said on the newsgroup misc.invest.futures about
that book: "I don't recommend that book. It was written over 4
years ago and much has changed - both in the S&P and more so in
my trading. The concepts in the book are worth reading but it's
title and price are something I doubt I will ever live down. That
probably explains why I have a new and more reasonably priced
book ($34.95) coming out in late October on how I trade for a
living. Doubt it will be a hot seller since it's about the realities
of trading for a living as opposed to the fantasies of trading
for a living. Plus, I found the real money in trading (at least
for me) was when I went beyond intraday trading and into the momentum
trends that last days, weeks, or months. Gary"
Because of
who Gary is, I'll be waiting anxiously for his next book!
